Fivepointville Ambulance Service

Fivepointville Ambulance Service The Fivepointville Ambulance is a non profit volunteer based ambulance service that is located in Brecknock Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

The Fivepointville Ambulance is a non profit volunteer based service that is located in Brecknock Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. We average about 800 calls a year with three ambulances and cover all of Brecknock Township, Terre Hill Borough and parts of East Earl Township, Ephrata Township, Earl Township, Caernarvon Township, Adamstown Borough and parts of Berks county on the Pennsylvan

ia Turnpike. In 1960 a group of Community members came together and bought an old hearse that was fixed up and used to transport patients to the hospital. Our Charter Members were Leonard Weinhold, Melvin W. Weinhold, Paul H. Weinhold, Warren E. Martzell, Leroy H. Kochel, and Rufus Habecker, and Martin G. Weaver assisted them with the purchase of the first vehicle. The charter members ran the ambulance from the garage of one of the members. Since they were also part of the Fire Company we were then housed in the same building. In 1966 Fivepointville Ambulance became incorporated as the Fivepointville Ambulance Service. In 1997 the ambulance service moved across the street to our current location. We are a non-profit organization with dedicated volunteers that are committed to serving our residence and visitors to our community. The call sign for Fivepointville Ambulance was known as Ambulance 3-14. In April 2007 we changed our call sign to Ambulance 3-19. In 2007 we placed a second ambulance in service to try to keep up with the increasing call volume and our growing community. On July 8th 2007 Ambulance 3-19-2 ran it's first call. On December 31, 2013 we changed our call sign from 3-19 to 36. This change was due to a new paging and radio project underway by Lancaster County. We currently have about 45 volunteer and 1 part time paid EMT.

Happy First Responder Day wishes to our members as well as our fellow EMS, Fire, Police and County Radio First Responder’s!!

Besides the daily emergency calls. October is fire prevention month. This gave us the opportunity to visit numerous local schools to teach either stop the bleed or hands only CPR. It also gave the students the opportunity to see our equipment.

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Life Member Martin “Marty” G. Weaver, who went home to be with the Lord on September 11, 2025, at the age of 91.

Marty was more than just a volunteer — he was one of the founding members who helped make Fivepointville Ambulance Association a reality. In 1960, he joined a small group of community members in purchasing an old hearse that became the very first ambulance for our area. Together, they answered the community’s call for help, running their first emergency response on July 1, 1961. Marty’s dedication during those early years laid the foundation for what Fivepointville Ambulance is today.

Beyond his service to EMS, Marty devoted over 50 years of his life to our organization, all while being a loving husband, father, and friend. He spent 36 years as a hardworking truck driver and enjoyed the simple joys of hunting, fishing, and time outdoors.

Marty will always be remembered not only for his decades of service but also for his unwavering commitment to his family, his church, and his community. We are forever grateful for his contributions and his legacy that lives on every time our ambulances roll out to serve.

Even after retirement, Marty could be found at our annual member appreciation banquet every year bringing smiles to our faces and enjoying the fellowship of the members that help to carry on this great organization he helped found.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Marty’s family during this time. Rest easy, Brother — your work here is done, and we will carry it forward from here.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM at Red Run Mennonite Church, 987 Martin Church Road, Denver, PA, with Pastor Kevin Weaver officiating.

Viewings will be held at the church on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and again on Friday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.

Burial will occur immediately following the funeral in the adjoining church cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to C. Stanley Eckenroth Home of Funerals, Terre Hill.

We would like to extend Huge Congratulations to one of our members, Don Ellis for achieving the certification level of Paramedic!! Don is now one of several of our volunteers who came to us at a young age. We were able to watch them grow, make a career and excel!! Don was obviously very busy over the past year but he was still only a phone call away whenever we needed anything!! Congratulations Don and we look forward to you bringing your knowledge and experience to our community as well.
