The Denver LGBTQ Commisison had a busy weekend! Thank you to everybody who came to our Pride in the City event or cheered for us as we marched in the parade. We will continue to prioritize & uplift community needs, policy opportunities, and LGBTQ-serving orgs & spaces for our great, proud city! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Colorado’s attorney general is joining the lawsuit challenging gender-affirming care bans for trans youth!

Funding alert! 📢‼️ The Denver Immigrant & Refugee Commission is excited to announce that applications are now open for the 2025 DOIRA Immigrant Integration Sponsorship Program! This initiative provides funding for community-driven projects that foster immigrant and refugee integration into Denver’s civic, economic, and social fabric.

Grant Purpose: Support innovative, community-focused programs that promote collaboration and address the needs of Denver’s immigrant and refugee communities.

Funding Amount: Up to $2,000
Application Deadline: February 16, 2025

We encourage applications from community organizations, and groups with a vision for strengthening connections across cultures, addressing critical community needs, and creating impactful outcomes.

The Denver LGBTQ Commission is looking for new commissioners!

The Denver LGBTQ Commission partners with the Mayor, the city of Denver, and our broader community to advance social, economic, and political equity for LGBTQ+ people in Denver.

The Commitment:
➡️ Serve a term of 2 years
➡️ Attend monthly 2-hour meetings on the 2nd Tuesday of the month
➡️ Attend monthly 1-hour subcommittee meetings
➡️ Attend HRCP events (Commissioner Partnership Day, New Commissioner Orientation)
➡️ Serve as a representative at community and city events

As a commissioner, you will join a group of 20 community volunteers who...

✅ Advise the Human Rights & Community Partnerships Agency and the Mayor on critical issues facing the LGBTQ+ community in Denver
✅ Recommend necessary procedures, programs, legislation, or administrative action and to promote equal rights and opportunity for the people of the city
✅ Support efforts to organize, educate, and mobilize the LGBTQ community through coalition building and coordination with allied individuals, groups, and organizations.
