Asian Pilot Representative Group

Goal-Mission-introduction

First of all, I would like to say that it is such an exciting time and a privilege for us to be starting this group. Although we have many steps to overcome to become a fully functioning and an efficient organization, I know that we will be able to come together and help each other to a successful and fulfilling airline pilot career. As

far as my introduction, I am currently flying for Express jet as a First Officer (IAH Based). Prior to the Express Jet, I was based in Boston, MA, flying for Cape air in a Cessna 402. Graduated from ERAU/DB Campus in 10' and instructed at ERAU for 2 years. My partner in development of this group is Mooseok Kim, also an Alumni of ERAU/DB Campus and is currently with Express jet as well, based in EWR. Although it does not happen often, as I walk thru the terminals I am able to see other Asian American Pilots. And every time we passed each other, I am not able to hide the gladness to see other Asian Americans Pilots walk the same terminal. It is, without a doubt, that Asian Americans are growing in numbers in this industry but a minority as well. We have Asian American Pilots in corporate, cargo, regional airlines and major airlines. We have 100's and 1000's of Asian American pilots thru out United States and goal of this group is to bring us together. Now, this is not a Union or an "alliance" of the Asian American Pilot. Our goal is similar to that of a OBAP, organization of Black Airline Pilots. We want to focus on inter connecting each other and establishing relationship between us and the many other airlines in the States. Holding conferences to bring ideas to better this industry and to meet each other is also a goal in mind. Another is to educate and to bring awareness to the young generation of Asian Americans of what it is like to be an airline pilot. As many of you are aware OBAP has a long history and is a very tight knit community. They are known for their attributes to aviation industry as well as the ability to connect with airlines for job conferences, and the airlines 'Acknowledge' of their existence! An influential group that can play a important role in the aviation industry is what we aim to be and we want you to be a part of it. Weather you may be 3rd, 2nd or 1st generation of Asian Americans, we all work hard and put our best effort in for the upmost safe operation of the aircrafts we fly. Everything put aside, I hope to be able to pass by you in the terminal and say hi and maybe have met each other in one of the future APRG conferences to come. It may only be a page now but we plan to expand via website, office and officers to fill the empty desks. There is a small start to everything great and I cannot say with words how excited we are. Hope to see you soon,
Safe flights and blue skies
Sincerely,
Jun Han

Hey guys!! Its been a while since we posted something so I am going to reintroduce myself! This group is here because I know that we will be able to come together and help each other to a successful and fulfilling airline pilot career.

As far as my introduction, I am currently with Spirit Airlines. (FLL Based). Before Spirit, I flew for Express jet.
