Officer Eric Fisher

Officer Eric Fisher I am Officer Eric Fisher of the East Cocalico Township Police Department. I am honored to be the SRO

05/30/2026

Today, our department mourns the heartbreaking loss of Officer Kristen Yeager, who made the ultimate sacrifice while responding to a call for service on May 29, 2026.

Officer Yeager served our community with courage, compassion, and unwavering dedication. She answered the call to protect and serve each day, placing the safety of others above her own. Her commitment to her badge, her fellow officers, and the citizens she served will never be forgotten.

We ask that you keep Officer Yeager’s family, friends, and our entire law enforcement family in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

Rest easy, Officer Yeager. Your watch has ended, but your legacy of service and sacrifice will live on forever. We got it from here.

I slept well last night. Really well.

The bed was comfortable. The sheets were fresh and clean. The temperature in the house was just right. Even the dog was peacefully snoring in his bed. Everything felt perfect.

But the truth is, that kind of peace doesn’t just happen.

While I slept safely and comfortably, someone else answered the call. Someone else stood the watch. Someone else took their place on the line so families like mine could rest under the blanket of freedom they help provide every single day.

For that freedom—and for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice —thank you.

Pennsylvania Association of School Resource Officers - PASRO

NASRO is honored to recognize SRO Nicholas Denton of the Prospect Park Police Department (Pennsylvania) as the Exceptional Service Award winner for Region 3. Region 3 includes Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and Delaware.

Nicholas Denton is recognized for his proactive leadership, investigative excellence, and lasting impact on school safety and community trust. Since re-establishing his department’s School Resource Officer position in 2022 after a decade-long absence, Denton has built a model program grounded in prevention, education, and rapid response. He has strengthened district-wide preparedness by training staff in the ALICE Program and further advanced the profession by developing a Field Training Officer program for SROs.

Denton’s investigative work has been equally impactful—successfully resolving a double attempted child abduction, a school bombing/active shooter threat, and a road rage incident involving a firearm and juvenile victims—demonstrating sound judgment under pressure and a steadfast commitment to protecting youth. He also invests daily in prevention and mentorship by teaching students about substance abuse, leading hands-on mock crime scenes for forensic science classes, and delivering professional development on emerging drug trends.

Congratulations Officer Denton!

Prom is almost here!

It’s a night to celebrate, make memories, and have fun with friends.

Before the big night, let’s talk about something just as important as the perfect outfit: getting there and back safely.

Plan your ride ahead of time. Whether it’s a parent, trusted adult, or a designated driver, make sure you know how you’re getting home before the night begins.

Stay focused if you’re driving. No texting, snapping, or distractions—it can wait.

Follow the rules of the road. Speeding or reckless driving can turn a great night into a dangerous one.

Never get in a car with someone who isn’t safe to drive.

Prom should be remembered for the right reasons đź’™ Make smart choices, stay safe, and enjoy every moment!

On Thursday, March 12, 2026, at approximately 5:35pm, Lancaster County Wide Communications (911) Center, received a hoax call involving a residence on Larch Lane in Denver Borough, commonly known as “swatting.” Swatting involves an individual making a false emergency report to law enforcement to provoke a large, unnecessary police response.

The East Cocalico Township Police Department along with the Pennsylvania State Police, Ephrata and West Earl Police Departments arrived on Larch Lane and the surrounding area.

After a thorough assessment by the police, the situation was determined to be completely unfounded, and the threat was deemed a swatting hoax.

Law enforcement is now actively investigating the source of the malicious call.

We recognize that any large police presence is stressful, and we want to assure you that we handled the situation seriously and efficiently with the safety of our community as the top priority.
