🌟 Resident Spotlight: Eugene “Lee” Shultz 🌟
Eugene “Lee” Shultz was born on January 8, 1927, in DuBois, Pennsylvania, and grew up in Connecticut. As a young boy, Lee was known for getting into trouble with the neighborhood kids and often joked about “Pete the Cop” calling his father — the local high school principal — to come pick him up. After losing his mother at the age of 12, Lee began working for the local newspaper before proudly joining the Navy at 18 years old.
Lee later graduated from New Mexico Tech as a mining engineer. In 1950, fate stepped in when he met his wife Jean while sitting in a dentist chair and she was the dental assistant. Married for 60 wonderful years, they raised two sons, Scott and David. Lee proudly says his greatest accomplishment in life was his marriage to Jean.
After moving to Colorado, Lee continued to live life to the fullest. Known for walking two miles a day, researching investments, and brightening everyone’s day by giving friendly knuckles in the hallway, Lee describes himself as caring, crazy, and fun. Later in life, he found love again with his wife Phyllis, with whom he shared 12 happy years.
We are honored to celebrate Lee and the incredible life, love, laughter, and memories he continues to share with us every day! ❤️
