Used cars hold stories.🚗❤️

For Vince, graduating from the New Life Program in 2023 and receiving a car from the Mission opened up a world of possibilities.

With reliable transportation, he was able to:

🏡 Save money and buy a home
👷‍♂️ Get to work reliably every day
🗺️ Visit family in Tucson
🚵‍♂️ Maintain a healthy, active lifestyle by hiking and exploring the mountains
🫶 Pass the vehicle on to someone else who needed it

One donated vehicle. So many opportunities. So many lives changed.

That’s the ripple effect of a vehicle donation.❤️

For families in Denver, rising housing costs, eviction and a lack of affordable options can quickly turn a financial setback into a housing crisis.

That’s why Denver Rescue Mission is working to meet families where they are—through family shelter and homelessness prevention services.

Behind every number is a family working toward stability.❤️

🏈When it comes to the Broncos vs. Vikings game tonight, our staff is a little divided...

But when it comes to serving our neighbors, we’re always on the same team.🤝

No, but really, go Denver Broncos!💙🧡

❓When a sudden and unexpected hardship comes, who do you turn to for support?

For many families in our community, a lack of support can put them at risk of homelessness.

That’s where Denver Rescue Mission’s Prevention program steps in.

After a death in the family, “S” and her children suddenly had to leave the home they shared with their grandparents. As a single mom, "S" was struggling to balance starting a new job, getting her children settled into a new school and keeping up with rent.

When her children’s school connected her with DRM, timely financial and case management support helped their family remain housed. Today, they are still thriving.❤️

This is why prevention matters.

Rene recently moved into housing!🏡💙

With the support from our Complex Case Management team, Rene now has a place to call home.

To help her get settled, she received a Housewarming Box filled with essentials for her new space. She even sent us a thank-you note to share how much it meant to her. 💌

Her note is one of many reminders that a little help can make a big difference when someone is starting a new chapter.

“Thank you, God, now it’s my turn.”

For Joan, generosity is about gratitude. After experiencing the kindness of others during a time when she needed it, she knew she wanted to be there for someone else.

We’re grateful for Joan and many others who extend the same care and compassion to our neighbors experiencing homelessness. ❤️

❌ Myth: “People experiencing homelessness don’t want to work.”
✅ Fact: Around 50% of those we serve at Denver Rescue Mission have jobs.

Homelessness is more complicated than many people realize. Rising costs, unexpected challenges and limited affordable housing can make it difficult to make ends meet—even for people who are working hard every day.

Behind every statistic is a person with a story. Thank you for helping us see our neighbors for who they are and walk alongside them with compassion, dignity and hope.💚

A boy’s very first pair of light-up shoes.👟✨

Many of us remember the feeling—slipping on those shoes as a kid and suddenly feeling like you could take on the world.

For one family at The Crossing, three siblings got to experience that feeling for the very first time. Their eyes lit up almost as much as their new shoes.💙

Last week, families at The Crossing gathered for a Backpack Party to get ready for the new school year. Thanks to the generosity of our Young Professionals group, every child received a backpack, school supplies, a first-day-of-school outfit, water bottle, and new shoes. Adults received shoes, socks and hygiene items, too.

The smiles, laughter and excitement were a beautiful reminder that sometimes, the little things can make a big difference!

Our community shows up. 🙌
347 breakfasts. Monthly lunch service. Meal prep. Turkey Drive support. And we could go on and on!

Recently, these incredible partners have been busy showing up for our neighbors across the Mission:

🍳 Zion Temple Pentecostal Apostolic Faith Church woke up early to serve breakfast at Lawrence Street Community Center
🦃 Fortis Bank served breakfast at LSCC and signed on as a first-time Turkey Drive sponsor
👚 Griffis Residential sorted donations at the Ministry Outreach Center and is also supporting this year’s Turkey Drive
🍽️ Elevation Labs served lunch at 48th Avenue Center—and have been serving with us every month!
🥪 Focus Partners prepped and served lunch at LSCC

Every act of service makes a difference. Thank you to these teams for showing up and serving alongside us!🩷
