🦃Gather Your Group & Join Team Thanksgiving!🍂

Thanksgiving is about coming together, and you can help make sure our neighbors experiencing homelessness have a warm holiday meal.❤️

Gather your church, school, neighborhood, coworkers, or family and start a Thanksgiving food drive!

Collect nonperishable food items and frozen turkeys by November 2 so we have time to assemble and distribute Thanksgiving food boxes to our neighbors before the holiday.

“Everyone deserves a second chance, and sometimes people take it and learn to fly.”

For years, Kathie J. has used her platform through KOSI 101.1 and The Kathie J Show Podcast to support Denver Rescue Mission and share stories of hope, transformation and second chances.

Last November, she sat down with Abel to hear his story of recovery and help share it with her audience.

We’re grateful for Kathie’s continued support and the impact she makes by helping others see the power of a second chance.❤️

Teamwork that changes lives!🙌

Our donors and volunteers have been hard at work! Monthly meal service ✅ Coat donations ✅ Hygiene kits and housewarming boxes assembled ✅ And that’s just the beginning!

Thank you to these incredible partners for showing up for our neighbors across the Mission and our community:

🍽️ LAZ Parking serves lunch at Lawrence Street Community Center every month and has helped direct traffic at our Thanksgiving Banquet-in-a-Box event for seven years!

🥘bp (also sponsors for this year's Turkey Drive!) helped with meal prep at three Mission locations and pitched in with dishwashing and lunch service.

☕ Fortis Bank (another Turkey Drive sponsor!) and Wipfli served meals and shared smiles at LSCC!

🧼 First Nation Group assembled hygiene kits for our guests and is sponsoring this year’s Turkey Drive!

🧥 Black Hills Energy donated 60 coats, and AsburyAuto donated and helped pack housewarming boxes for guests moving into housing.

🙌 Shoutout to our Volunteer Coordinators, Vanessa and Jorge, for recruiting volunteers at University of Colorado Denver for the university’s Lynx Day of Service!

Thank you for being part of this work. Every act of service makes a difference!❤️

Today is World Homeless Day❤️

For 24 hours, we joined other missions across Citygate Network for Conversations on a Bench. We heard stories from community leaders, people with lived experience and others who care deeply about being part of the solution to homelessness.

As Dennis, our President/CEO, shared:

“The conversations don’t stop here. The conversations are only the beginning of more relationships, more collaboration and more opportunities to work to bring an end to homelessness, one life at a time.”

Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared their stories, donated, and helped make these conversations possible. And thank you for standing with our neighbors experiencing homelessness, today and every day.❤️

Only 1 HOUR LEFT of Conversations on a Bench! 🪑❤️

We are AMAZED by the incredible conversations, stories and moments we've shared over the past (almost) 24 hours. And there's still time to tune in!

Join us LIVE on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram for the final hour. And this is just the beginning! We'll be sharing impactful moments from these conversations throughout the next year.

Plus, a generous donor has offered a $10,000 matching gift challenge! That means every gift made today can go twice as far to help our neighbors experiencing homelessness.
