Last week, FRCA staff took some time out of our staff retreat to celebrate our 10th Annual Failure Party! 🎉

We took some time to share our biggest flops, lessons learned, and moments that definitely didn’t go as planned. Below are a few of the very wacky awards Mandy handed out to recognize those failures. 🏆

A fun tradition and a good reminder that failure is part of the work (and sometimes, you just have to laugh about it and leave it behind)!

✨ FRCA is celebrating Mandy Watrous-Gale as the newly appointed ECLC Commissioner!

The Early Childhood Leadership Commission (ECLC) is Colorado’s federally authorized state advisory council for early childhood. The role of the ECLC is to be a statewide leader, subject matter expert and champion of best and promising practices throughout the state. Mandy is honored and excited to elevate family support services and economic mobility in her commissioner role.

Exciting news for the family support field: the Colorado Family Support Assessment 2.0 (CFSA 2.0) just earned an "A – Psychometrics Well-Demonstrated" rating from the California Evidence-Based Clearinghouse for Child Welfare (CEBC).

That's CEBC's highest rating for a measurement tool, awarded only when multiple peer-reviewed studies confirm a tool is reliable and valid.

Family Resource Center Association and co-developed the CFSA 2.0 to help programs track family strengths, needs, and progress across economic security, health, and the protective factors that guard against child maltreatment. It's now used by Family Strengthening and Support programs nationwide.

This rating means the programs using the CFSA 2.0 can point to independent, third-party confirmation that their data holds up, backed by three published research studies.

Curious about the CFSA 2.0 or interested in bringing it to your program? Reach out to FRCA (cofamilycenters.org). If you are interested in how to use the CFSA 2.0 in research or evaluation on your program, reach out to Omni (https://www.omni.org/)!
