When nonprofit organizations spend less on utilities, they can invest more in their mission. 💸
Since 1989, Women's Bean Project has helped women experiencing chronic unemployment gain the skills, experience, and support needed to re-enter the workforce. As the organization expanded into a new 20,000-square-foot facility, it also invested in energy efficiency and clean energy upgrades designed to support its long-term growth.
With support from the city, Women’s Bean Project installed a rooftop solar system. The system now covers 120% of the building's electricity needs, helping eliminate electric bills today while creating room for growth tomorrow.
Projects like this help community-serving organizations keep more resources focused where they matter most. Today, Women’s Bean Project directs more than 75% of its revenue toward wages and support services for the women it employs.
These are the investments we love to make to strengthen Denver’s nonprofit organizations and the communities they serve.
