Tonight's a busy night in Depew Athletics as all of our teams play their first contests of 2025! JV and Varsity Boys Basketball hosts Maryvale for their first league contest this evening. JV tips at 5pm while the Varsity starts approximately at 6:30. All other teams are off campus this evening. Good luck to all!

Please note that yearbooks won't be delivered until the end of the school year, but by pre-ordering, you ensure that you'll have one waiting for you when the time comes. Yearbooks will not be available for sale after January 13th.

Girls Bowling finished in 3rd place yesterday in the Festival of Lights Tournament held the Tonawanda Bowling Center. The girls only finished behind Frontier and Lockport while beating plenty of much larger schools. Congrats girls!

Varsity Girls Basketball (5-1) used a big first half to defeat Eden 57-27 yesterday in the Kenmore West Girls Basketball Holiday Tournament. The girls took a 36-10 lead into halftime and did not look back.

Liv Leazott had 23 points, seven steals and five assists. Ashley Codr had 15 points and five blocked shots. Ashley Krysztof had seven points and seven steals. Cam Domino had nine rebounds, Ella Pagano had four steals and both Elle Dehn and Avery Smolarek had four points each for the Wildcats.

The squad is back in action today as they play hosts Kenmore West in the championship game at 5pm. Good luck girls!

Both JV and Varsity Girls Basketball (4-1, 1-0 league record) travel to Kenmore West today for the first round of their Holiday Tournament and both play against Eden. JV tips off at 11am while the Varsity starts at 3pm.

The Varsity girls earned a huge league victory on the road against East Aurora last Friday winning 42-31. Up one going into the 4th quarter, we outscored the Blue Devils 14-4. The girls shot the ball well in the 1st and 4th quarters while playing tough team defense the entire game for the victory.

Liv Leazott had a game high 18 points, 11 rebounds and seven steals! Ashley Krysztof had 15 points, seven rebounds and six steals! Avery Smolarek had six boards, while Ella Pagano (four assists) came up with five rebounds for Depew. Ashley Codr played fantastic defense on East Aurora's leading scorer and had five points of her own. Good luck girls

It was a week of festivities leading up to winter break:
- Students in Mrs Valint's Kindergarten class celebrated Reindeer Day with a little reindeer game
- At Cayuga, the talented Mr. Jason Miller played holiday tunes as students entered school the last day before break
- And the Wildcat and Elf on the Shelf were seen wandering the halls of the High School

Depew Athletics Unveils New Vinyl Wall Wrap to Inspire Future Wildcats!

We’re thrilled to share our latest project in collaboration with Ninja Graphics: a stunning vinyl wall wrap celebrating the achievements of recent Depew graduates. The display serves as a tribute to their hard work and dedication while hopefully inspiring our middle school students to dream big, set ambitious goals, and strive to carry on the strong tradition of athletic excellence at Depew.

The Boys Basketball Holiday Tournament concludes today with four games on the docket. Both Depew JV and Varsity teams will play Williamsville North in their respective championship games today. The JV Championship will be at 1pm while the Varsity plays at 2:30pm.

All admission for todays contests is $5 for adults, $3 for students and elementary students are free of charge.

The Varsity defeated West Seneca West Thursday 53-45. Mason McGloin had a team high 23 points. Danny Reese had nine points and 13 rebounds. Jordan Szymanski had seven points including some key free throws down the stretch as well as five rebounds and five assists.

Boys and Girls Indoor Track travel to Houghton College for the 3rd time this season. Both Modified Girls and Boys Basketball are in East Aurora tonight.

We are hosting the JV Boys Basketball Tournament this evening. Williamsville North will play South Park at 5:30 while Depew hosts West Seneca West at 7. Admission is $3 dollars for adults, $1 for students and elementary age students can enter free of charge.

Varsity Girls Basketball (3-1) travels to East Aurora tonight in a key divisional matchup. Down at halftime against Akron on Wednesday, the girls stormed back to win 70-42.

Defense and sharing the ball were key to victory as the team had 17 assists and 21 steals! Ashley Codr had a career high 20 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals for the Wildcats! Liv Leazott again just missed a triple double with 16 points, 10 assists, eight rebounds and five steals. Ashley Krysztof had 16 points while Avery Smolarek had nine points and seven rebounds. Viaira Arroyo made her first three pointer of her Varsity career which brought the house down!

Mrs. Sangelo and Mrs. McCabe's class from Cayuga Heights and Mrs. Van Kuren's class from the middle school got together for some winter learning fun!
They learned about the states of matter, solids, liquids and gases.

Last month, students at Depew Middle School made wreaths as part of a lesson on gratitude. This week, they had the opportunity to deliver those wreaths to local first responders and community organizations, as a thank-you for their service to the community.
