Deposit Fire Department "Go home boys, we got it from here." We proudly serve the residence of the Village of Deposit, Town of Deposit, Town of Sanford and Town of Scott.

The Deposit Fire Department is organized to prevent the loss of life and property from fire, to provide rescue and pre-hospital care in life threatening situations and provide confinement and suppression in the event of fire.

Hello Facebook Friends! Our Labor Day Weekend Car Show and Craft Fair is only a week away!

The Deposit Fire Department, Inc. will be hosting the Labor Day Weekend Car Show this year on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at Deposit Firemen's Park located at 55 Dublin Street!

We are looking for cars, motorcycles, trucks and tractors! We have moved the show to the park this year to accommodate more vehicles and larger vehicles! We are welcoming commercial vehicles including but not limited to fire trucks, tow trucks, semi trucks, etc.

There will be awards for the following vehicle classes:

Sport Compact or Tunerz - All Years
Import or Foreign - All years
Corvettes C1 - C3
Covettes C4 - Present
Muscle Cars 64 - 79
Production Cars up to 1965
Production Cars 66 - 85
Production Cars 86 - 99
Production Cars 2000 - Present
Modified Cars up to 1965
Modified Cars 66 - 85
Modified Cars 86 - Present
Classic or Retro Trucks up to 72
Modified or Off-Road Trucks
Stock or Production Trucks 73 - 85

Yesterday morning, the Deposit Fire Department and Eastern Broome Emergency Services responded to a logging accident in the Town of Deposit. A Logger had sustained injuries from part of a falling tree. The Logger was extricated from the woods and transported to a local hospital.

Responding apparatus included Rescue 22, Utility 22 and Ambulance 8421. We would also like to thank Hancock Ambulance who provided an A.L.S. to our Eastern Broome Ambulance Crew. Eastern Broome had simultaneous calls occurring in the district at the time.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics lists Logging as the highest-risk occupation in the United States. Loggers are faced with major hazards everyday on the job site include falling trees, heavy machinery, and isolated work locations.

Calling all craft vendors! We are looking for you! We are hosting a one day event on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at Firemen’s Park in Deposit! This event includes a craft fair, car show (including trucks, motorcycles, tractors and of course fire apparatus), food and live music. Our department is celebrating 175 years of service to our community this year! Please consider coming to help us celebrate! The vendor application is attached!

D.F.D. Squad 2 on the scene of a residential fire alarm activation earlier this afternoon in the Town of Sanford. As always, we thank our mutual aid partners who had responded with us to this alarm in the event there had been an actual fire. The homeowner was working on the alarm system and there was no actual fire.

We would like to remind everyone that this Saturday (8/15/2026) is the Eastern Broome Emergency Services Annual 5K Walk / Run around Oquaga Lake beginning at 10 AM!

Oquaga Lake Road will be closed between Golf Course Road and Hanson Road from approximately 9:30 AM until 11:30 AM on Saturday.

Traffic around Oquaga Lake will be down to one lane and all vehicular traffic will need to travel around the lake in a counter clockwise direction.

We will have Firefighters and E.M.S. Providers around the lake to assist with traffic control. This single lane traffic pattern will be in effect from approximately 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday.
