We have successfully concluded our 11th annual AHEC Summer program and are delighted to reflect on the accomplishments of our participating students. The program's objective is to provide high school students with comprehensive exposure to diverse healthcare disciplines, encompassing both administrative and clinical aspects. Throughout the program, students engage in departmental shadowing, experiential learning, and a wide range of educational field trips.
If you have a high school that is interested in participating next year, please see your school counselor. The program is sponsored by SWLAHEC and hosted by your local hospital.

Allegiance Medical Clinic of DeQuincy welcomed the 2026 DeQuincy AHEC students to the clinic. They toured our facility and met with Jalal Joudeh, MD, Kayla Gearen, FNP and staff.
