Derby Public Schools and the Derby Rotary Club are teaming up during the city-wide garage sale weekend to help provide meals for students in need through the Community Assistance School Lunch Program.

Beginning this summer and into the 2026-2027 school year, you will receive district, school, classroom and activities/athletics updates in one convenient place, making it easier for staff and families to stay connected, informed and engaged from any mobile device or computer.

➡️ At the secondary level (grades 6-12), students will have access to StudentSquare on their school device or through a mobile app for after-school activities and athletics communication. Students/Families may choose to download the free ParentSquare or StudentSquare app for iOS or Android, or log in at www.parentsquare.com.

Yesterday, 2nd Grade got to give some advice to the 1st Graders about what to expect for next year. They also enjoyed showing them around the rooms and explaining different class procedures!

Today’s Staff vs. 5th Grade Kickball Game was one for the books!

Both teams played their hearts out and kept the crowd on the edge of their seats the entire game. In the end, the 5th graders barely pulled off the win with a final score of 16 to 15!

Well played by everyone involved and what a fun way to celebrate the end of the school year!

If you ordered a yearbook for your child, it is coming home this evening. We do have a limited quantity of extra yearbooks for sale. They will be sold on a first come, first serve basis as money is received. Yearbooks are $15. Payment can be cash or check made out to El Paso Elementary.

So, Sharks... what do you say?
Ms. Owings' fifth grade students have been working for the past month on Shark Tank pitches. They got together in teams to design a product, figure its cost, make a marketing campaign, and write a pitch. Today, parents came in to be Sharks. After students presented, the Sharks asked a number of questions about the product. Then they negotiated. All of our groups were able to walk away with a deal! It was a fantastic event that showed a deep level of learning. Thank you to those who came to watch!

Full circle moment! Seniors were back at El Paso, this morning, walking the halls one last time as they celebrate graduation. What an incredible way to show them off! 💙

Derby High School student council invites current 2nd-5th graders to join us for 3 days of learning about becoming the best leaders they can be in their everyday lives. Students from DHS StuCo have planned activities, games and projects that will challenge young leaders and make them think.

May 26th-28th ~ 9 am to noon

Yesterday, as a part of “R” day for our ABC countdown, 1st graders got to RIDE the bus to the park! We all had so much fun!
