It’s only a test!

Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport will conduct a full-scale emergency preparedness exercise beginning at 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17.

The exercise will simulate an aircraft emergency and bring together airport personnel, first responders, and community partners to test emergency response plans and strengthen coordination.

Members of the public may notice additional emergency vehicles, first responders and simulated emergency activity in and around the airport. There is no threat to the public, and airport operations and commercial airline service will continue as scheduled.

These full-scale exercises are conducted every three years to help ensure ICT and its partners are prepared for a real-world emergency.
