While assisting the Willimantic Police Department on a tactical law enforcement operation on January 23rd, 2024, Meriden Police Department Detective John Dorias went from being a SWAT Officer to a caregiver in mere minutes.
After completing a narcotics and fi****ms related search warrant at a residence in Willimantic, Detective Dorais discovered a young infant inside, prepared a bottle for a baby and removed the baby from the house and into the safety of a nearby Police vehicle. The baby was unharmed during the incident, and later reunited with his family.
