Request for Proposals
Landscaping Service for

North Evans and Highland Hose Fire Stations

Introduction
The purpose of this request is to solicit proposals to furnish all materials and labor to maintain the
landscaping at the North Evans and Highland Hose Fire stations.
Schedule
The proposals are due to Laura Sargent, North Evans Fire District Secretary, P.O. Box 879 Derby, New
York 14047 no later than April 3rd, 2026.
Scope:
 Cutting grass
 W**d trimming/edging
 Clearing fallen tree debris from grass surfaces
 Clearing trimmings from paved and walking areas
 W**ding planting beds monthly, adding new mulch as needed.
 Fertilizing and w**d control
 Brush/limb clearing & trimming of overhanging branches from parking lot edges as needed at North Evans Fire
Station (see attached photo).

Visits to the North Evans site at 6980 Versailles Rd. North Evans, NY 14112 may be scheduled by
calling Commissioner Rob Mages; 716-553-1451.
Visits to the Highland Hose at 1425 Highland Parkway, Derby NY 14047 may be scheduled by calling
Commissioner Robert Trask: 716-432-2937
Insurance
Certificates of Insurance for, General Liability; Workman’s Compensation & Disability Insurances are
the responsibility of the proposer and a copy of the Certificates naming the North Evans Fire District as co-
insured are to be provided prior to gaining access to the site.
Waiver
The North Evans Fire District reserves the right to accept all, part of, or to reject, any or all proposals.

Areas boxed in red require attention to overhanging branches at North Evans station, so the Fire Vehicles don’t
get scratched.

There will be a significant presence of emergency services personnel tomorrow and Thursday in the North Evans area, including the North Evans Firemen’s Park, for training purposes. Please do not be alarmed. Training will take place tomorrow from 12:00 p.m. until dusk, and on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

PUBLIC HEARING ON THE 2026 BUDGET

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Proposed Budget of the North Evans Fire District of the Towns of Evans and Derby, State of New York, will be presented to the Board of Fire Commissioners of the North Evans Fire District for its consideration.

A PUBLIC HEARING will be held from 7PM – 7:30 PM at the North Evans Fire Department, 6988 Versailles Plank Rd, Derby, NY 14047 on Tuesday October 21, 2025.

Pursuant to Town Law 181.3(a), the Board of Fire Commissioners must hold a public hearing on the budget, make the proposed budget available to the public prior to the public hearing and allow the public to comment on the budget.

That a copy of the proposed budget is available at the Office of Town Clerk of the Town of Evans, Town Hall Angola, New York.

North Evans Fire District - Request for Proposals
Snow Removal & Salting for North Evans and Highland Hose Halls

Introduction
The purpose of this request is to solicit proposals to furnish all materials and labor to remove snow and place salt for safe operations at the North Evans and Highland Hose Fire Halls.
Schedule
Sealed bids are required for this RFP and are requested via U.S. mail. The proposals are due to Laura Sargent, North Evans Fire District Secretary, P.O. Box 879 Derby, New York 14047 no later than October 21st, 2025.
Scope:
• Snow is to be removed from both stations in the blue and red highlighted zones of both Exhibit A for Highland Hose Fire Hall and Exhibit B of the North Evans Fire Hall any time there is more than 3 inches of accumulation.
• Salt is to be applied whenever ice is likely to form on the surfaces to be treated. Salt may be billed at a seasonal rate or an “as needed” rate stipulated in the bid.
• Special attention needs to be paid to the apron areas (Highlighted in Red of the Exhibits) of both Halls to ensure they are salted when appropriate and cleared for fire apparatus to get into and out of the building.
• Provisions should be made in the bid submission to account for possible use of heavy equipment in the event snow is more than regular plow truck can handle. ie; cost of equipment/labor per hour, etc.
