Last week, our S2S students toured McConnell AFB to see leadership in action. They learned about the base mission and how every unit works together to support that mission. Everything from touring the KC-135 to seeing the military working dogs and innovation lab made our day so fun. We are grateful for the partnership at MAFB for making this possible for our Tigers!

Now in its third year, the student-led school carnival at Tanglewood gave third graders the chance to bring economics to life through hands-on learning. Students in the classes of Eve Terrell, Joshua Priebe and Sheena Jenkins designed advertisements for their carnival games, managed ticket distribution and worked together to keep their booths profitable.

Throughout the day, students from other grade levels visited the carnival to play games and win prizes. Many of this year’s fifth graders (the first group to host the carnival three years ago) enjoyed watching the current third graders creatively run games they once led themselves.

What a fun and engaging way to apply real-world economics skills!
