Today, the Dermott Fire Department and Dermott Police Department were blessed with the opportunity to help a couple of families in our community by providing them with water and food.

Let’s continue to check on our citizens, neighbors, elderly, and families throughout the community. You never know what someone may be going through or when they may need a helping hand.

It was truly a blessing today to be able to bless these families and serve our community. This is what community service is all about—helping one another in a time of need.

May God continue to bless our community, our citizens, and all those who serve. 🙏🏽❤️

🚨 TRAFFIC ALERT – ROAD CLOSURE 🚨

The Dermott Fire Department, Dermott Police Department, Chicot County Sheriff’s Office, and Chicot County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) are currently on the scene at the intersection of Highway 165 and Highway 208, near Lil Bit Sandwiches, due to three downed power poles, power lines, and a transformer.

Highway 165 at Highway 208 is CLOSED until further notice because of the dangerous conditions caused by the downed utility lines and poles blocking the roadway.

If you are traveling north on Highway 165, you will be directed to a detour by firefighters or law enforcement officers. Please follow their instructions and use caution in the area.

Entergy crews are on scene and actively working to repair the damage and restore service.

Please avoid the area if possible and never drive over or approach downed power lines, as they should always be considered energized.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as emergency responders and utility crews work to make the area safe.
