Community Caregivers of Greater Derry is a non-profit volunteer caregiving group that has been assisting local seniors since 1988 with tasks that become difficult to maintain as one ages such as light chores, transportation and grocery shopping. Transportation - Medical Appointments;
Visitation - Friendly Visiting, Letter Writing, Companionship;
Errands - General and Grocery Shopping;
Chores - L
ight Housekeeping, Laundry, Minor Repairs;
Limited Respite Care - Provide A Break For Family And Friends Who Are Providing Continual Care;
Referrals - Provide Information And Referrals To Appropriate Sources;
Loaner's Closet - Durable Medical Equipment Available To All Community Members.
Regardless of the rain at todays fair, so proud of all the products our volunteers and staff have made to sell to the public. Functionalware for seniors aging in place:

These are always for sale in our lobby. Come take a look. Perfect good for the senior that doesn't need anything.
We will be selling our volunteer made sewing projects at the market today. We will be there till closing. Come on out and visit. We will have our prize wheel too.

We should be giving him donuts, not the other way around.
Ben cleaned 3 donated AC units for 3 needy local cancer patients of ours so well we could have sold them full price. The effort he placed in someone he will never meet is astounding.

Community Caregivers, Strategic Caring Solutions and FCP Live-In are pleased to offer a unique talk on options for the near and maybe for the far future. Tuesday, July 9th from 1 to 2:30PM in CCGD’s meeting room at 6 West Broadway, Unit 6 in Derry.
This talk with discuss the best living situation when you are at a crossroads and the best way to financially plan for the future.
Catherine Cournoyer, VP, Senior Care Advisor from Strategic Caring Solutions is a long-term care plan expert. Her team of experts assist families with how to manage assets before or during a time of crisis, to ensure the proper legal documents are in place, as well as to create a long-term care plan that includes the Medicaid process and to provide funding options and strategies to preserve an estate from a nursing home. They understand there are many individuals who do not know where to turn when a long-term care event strikes and need a resource of professionals to help guide them to a successful outcome.
Daniel Ray is the local Care Coordinator with FCP Live-In. FCP Live-In is a leading live-in caregiver provider and in-home care company with over 26 years of experience. Summer Food Pantry Truck at The Upper Room in Derry, NH Starting June 23! The Upper Room is excited to share that it will be one of the Mobile Food Truck locations in Greater Derry this summer. The truck will be at The Upper Room on Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday and Fridays from 9:30 - 10: 00 am June 25 - August 23 distributing healthy meals to children.
This meal service is a collaboration between The Alexander Eastman Foundation and Heaven's Kitchen Mobile Food Pantry. See complete schedule on flyer.

Reminder that Derry will have cooling shelters open today at the Marion Gerrish until 9pm and both libraries until 8pm!
If you must go outside:
•Avoid strenuous work during the warmest part of the day. Use a buddy system when working in extreme heat, and take frequent breaks.
•Dress in loose-fitting, lightweight, and light-colored clothes that cover as much skin as possible. Avoid dark colors because they absorb the sun’s rays.
•Protect face and head by wearing sunblock and a wide-brimmed hat.
•Postpone outdoor games and activities.
•Stay indoors as much as possible and limit exposure to the sun.
A portmanteau of “June” and “nineteenth,” Juneteenth marks the day in 1865 when a group of enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, finally learned that they were free from the institution of slavery.
As the American public continues to grapple with how to talk about slavery and its enduring consequences, the national recognition of Juneteenth is at least a start to acknowledging the harmful way America was built and the foundational contributions of the enslaved.

We are so happy with the results both in exceeding our goal and the number of people that decided to donate. $15,000 is a lot of money for us. It makes up 15% of our fundraising budget for the whole year and it can run our agency (soup to nuts) for half a month.
Out of 665 registered charities (101 in our region), we were in 4th place in our region for unique donors at 125 people and 9th place for the dollar amount raised.
This is with no development staff, no marketing team, and no outreach budget. It was done with team work and sweat equity from our small staff and Board and all our amazing supporters.
Pat yourselves on the back for a job well done.
That's a wrap on 2024!! Thanks to the generosity of the Granite State, more than $3.28 million was raised for 649 NH nonprofits by 13,450 donors in the past 24 hours.
