Earlier this year, the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act — the law people marched, bled, and died for in Selma.

Six unelected justices. One signature law of the civil rights movement. Gone.

They’re not judges. They’re politicians in robes.

But Maryland saw it coming. We passed the Maryland Voting Rights Act less than 24 hours before that ruling dropped. They gutted the federal law, not ours.

Voting rights are civil rights. I’ll always fight for them. 🗳️ Vote by June 23.

That’s what Trump called the prices crushing working families after he dragged us into an illegal war in Iran.

It’s not a glitch to anyone filling a gas tank or buying groceries. Washington has checked out. Maryland has to step up, and that’s the fight I’m in. 🗳️ Vote by June 23

Spent yesterday afternoon with Finn’s first grade class reading Noodlephant. It’s a story about a pasta-loving elephant whose community rallies together when the deep-pocketed, powerful kangaroos decide the rules don’t apply to everyone equally.

The kids didn’t need much explanation. Some things are obvious to everyone—except the kangaroos.
