TEN SECONDS. THAT'S HOW LONG IT TAKES BRYAN TO GO FROM CONFETTI CANNON TO VELCRO.
Meet Bryan — 5 years old, 44 pounds of caramel, and the most misread dog in the building.
Here's what happens when you walk up to his kennel: he jumps. A lot. Full body. And here's the thing nobody stops to consider — if you loved company more than anything in the world and spent most of your day by yourself, wouldn't you?
🎉 THE HELLO
Bryan's greeting is enthusiastic. We're not going to pretend otherwise. But it's not a personality — it's a burst of relief, and it's already getting quieter with practice. Clip the leash on and it evaporates. Just like that. The dog on the other end of the leash walks beautifully, keeps pace, and acts like the last ten seconds never happened.
🤎 THE COLORING
Warm caramel with a clean white stripe straight down the center of his face and chest, like someone drew it on with a ruler. The white on his feet stops partway up — socks pulled on in a hurry and never fixed. Small dog, big presence.
👀 THE EYES
Light brown, and they go straight through you. Pet him and he softens all at once — leans in, gets closer, tucks himself against you like he's angling for a hug and hoping there's more coming. It's the most disarming thing about him, and almost nobody gets far enough into the visit to see it.
🎾 PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
• Certified tug-of-war competitor, Y-shaped rubber bone division
• Puzzle toy solver, pattern game enthusiast, treat-toss specialist
• Food-motivated and quick — picks up training games fast enough to make you look talented
• Kitchen supervisor (unpaid, self-appointed, deeply committed)
• Bath time: unbothered
• Post-fun nap: fully stretched out, no notes
• Meets other dogs and immediately wants to play — a playful dog sibling would make his whole year
• Gentle kisser. Gives them out freely.
💛 ONE PRACTICAL THING
Bryan is heartworm positive, which is completely treatable. He needs a home that can keep things low-key while he finishes treatment — short walks, quiet evenings, lots of couch. If you've been looking for a dog who has a medical reason to nap with you all winter, that's Bryan, and he'll be back to full speed on the other side of it.

Bryan has been here a while, and it isn't because something is wrong with him. It's because his first impression is loud and his best qualities are quiet. Get past the doorway and there's a sweet, smart, affectionate dog who wants to be near you, wants to be touched, and crumbles the second someone finally does.
