Due to the sale of the property that provided access to the river trail leading to the sandbar, the entry location has changed to the end of Chester Street on the East side for river trail access.

Arkansas State Aid Street Committee Project

State Aid Funding Amount: $400,000.00

Street Improvements:
Whippoorwill Road – Main Street to the city limits.
Willow Street – One block section.
Conder Road – Highway 38 to the city limits.
2nd Street – To the ball field.
Erwin Street – To 1st Street to 5th Street.
Pike Street – From 1st Street to 8th Street.

This project consists of street improvements, resurfacing, repairs, and related roadway maintenance on the streets listed above. The proposed work will improve road conditions, increase public safety, and enhance transportation access for residents and visitors.

Today was an exciting day as we celebrated the groundbreaking of the new Delta Rentals riverfront cabins! Mayor Sott joined Clark Mcarley and others in celebrating this exciting milestone. We appreciate everyone who has worked to make this vision a reality. Here's to new beginnings, economic growth, and creating a beautiful place for residents and visitors to enjoy our White River.

Today Mayor Scott signed off on a $213,992.00 Energy Efficient and Conservation Block Grant from the Arkansas Dept. of Energy & Environment to make improvements to City Hall. Renovations by Riverbend Mechanical will begin September 1, 2026, and are scheduled to be completed by October 31, 2026.

The Des Arc City Council has a position open in Ward 3 that will need to be filled through the end of the year. If any person residing in Ward 3 wishes to serve on the City Council for the remainder of 2026, they should be present at the City Council Meeting on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at 6:00 PM at City Hall. The City Council will appoint someone to finish the current term. A Ward Map can be found at https://www.cityofdesarc.com/page/city-of-des-arc-ward-map.
