I was born and raised here in Des Moines, Ia. I attended Grandview University and graduated with a Bachelors in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Accounting (cont). I have served the tax payers of Polk County for the last 10 years working for Polk County Government, 7 of which have been in the Polk County Treasurers Office working under the late Polk County Treasurer Mary
Maloney. I was elected and served as Union Treasurer for AFSCME Local 1868 from 2013 - 2021. I played an active role as a steward and was fortunate enough to participate in contract negotiations between the Union and County during that time. I have also served on the Planning & Zoning Commission for the City of Des Moines where I enjoyed interacting with the public on a more local level. In 2014, I was elected to the Polk County Credit Union Board as Audit Chairman which serves the employees of Polk County Government and the 5th Judicial District. Currently, I am working as an accountant for the Polk County Auditor’s Office in the Central Accounting Division. My entire career has been dedicated to PUBLIC SERVICE and it is far from over. Serving the residents of Polk County is my priority. I have acquired the knowledge and skills to turn the Treasurer's Office into a more effective and efficient department to better serve you, the taxpayers.
