Monsoon Asians & Pacific Islanders in Solidarity (formerly, Monsoon United Asian Women of Iowa) is API-led & community rooted organization providing services to survivors/victims of gender-based violence. Monsoon Asians & Pacific Islanders in Solidarity, formerly Monsoon United Asian Women of Iowa, is a community-based organization with a mission to end gender-based violence in the Asian & Pacific

Islander communities in Iowa. We provide direct services to victims/survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, stalking, and human trafficking from the API communities.

On this rainy Saturday morning, families gathered at JouJou for Monsoon’s community playdate. Our special guest, pediatrician and author Dr. Nathan Boonstra, read his book “Bye Bye, Big Sick” and talked to families about the upcoming flu season and pediatric vaccines. A teaching artist from the Des Moines Art Center was also present with a fun craft for the kiddos!
