CPPC: Community Partnerships for Protecting Children, Polk County Iowa A venue for exchanging information about local resources by blending the expertise of professionals and community members.

CPPC is an approach to improving how children are protected from maltreatment and a venue for exchanging information about local resources by blending the expertise of professionals and community members. Protecting children is everyone’s business; the Department of Human Services can’t do it alone.


|What is CPPC?|

An approach being implemented in Polk County that aims to improve how children a

re protected from maltreatment; the Department of Human Services can’t do it all alone. An opportunity to learn about non-DHS community based Family Team Meetings and other family strengthening services that can be available to vulnerable children and their families earlier, before a crisis occurs.


|Who Can Get Involved?|

CPPC is made up of a broad base of individuals and organizations in the community who are willing to devote their time, talent, leadership and resources to preventing child abuse and neglect before it occurs. Participation is open to anyone in the community who wants to help. The whole CPPC group meets each odd-numbered month on the third Tuesday.

Just a quick reminder that job seekers get a chance to win an IPAD mini for every job readiness workshop they attend this week at our center (430 E Grand Ave) or at the Goodwill Career Connection Center (Southridge Mall). Participants will receive a punch card in class that will then need to be turned in at the Untapped Potential Career Fair on Tuesday, February 24th. The punch cards will also act as a free 1-day DART bus pass for transportation to and from the Career Fair. Good luck!
