U.S. Army Reserve Brig. Gen. Clint Barnes, commanding general of the 103d Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), held a field lunch with Soldiers from the 645th Inland Cargo Transportation Company (ICTC) and the 325th Command Support Hospital during Operation Bold Eagle at Fort Hunter Liggett, California, July 20, 2026.

The lunch followed a mass casualty exercise conducted by the 325th Command Support Hospital, highlighting the importance of trained, adaptive formations in a complex operational environment. Barnes emphasized the role of continuous learning and self development in building disciplined leaders.

“We were not always this way,” Barnes said. “We kept learning. Intellectual curiosity is very important.”

Barnes encouraged Soldiers to seek feedback, accept correction, and remain committed to professional growth to strengthen readiness and mission success.

Bold Eagle is a premier multi-echelon training exercise, providing mission command for 74 units and more than 3,300 Soldiers. It combines a combat support training exercise and Global Medic, an international and joint military medical training exercise, to prepare Army Reserve forces for large scale combat operations in a demanding multi-domain operational environment.

To streamline digital communications across the force, the Department of the Army has published Army Directive 2026-17, which mandates the consolidation of social media platforms for all one-star and select two-star commands.

In compliance with this directive, the official 103d Expeditionary Sustainment Command social media pages will be archived and deactivated no later than July 30, 2026.

If there are any photos, videos, or posts you would like to keep, we encourage you to download them now. Once the page has been archived and deactivated, this content will no longer be available through our social media platforms.

Although our individual page is closing, our commitment to sharing the stories of our Soldiers and showcasing the outstanding work of the 103d ESC remains unchanged. We are proud to continue highlighting the dedication, professionalism, and accomplishments of our Soldiers.

Moving forward, all 103d ESC news, photos, videos, and updates will be shared through the official 79th Theater Sustainment Command social media channels, creating a single location for the latest information from across the command. Official stories and imagery will also continue to be available through the Defense Visual Information Distribution Service (DVIDS) and official U.S. Army Reserve communication channels.

Last weekend, the 103d Soldiers participated in a Touch-A-Truck event at the Walmart Supercenter in Altoona, Iowa. We brought out a HMMWV alongside the Altoona Fire Department and Altoona Police Department, giving kids an up-close look at the vehicles that serve their community. Families also tried their hand at guessing the weight of rucksacks and IOTVs, ran an obstacle course, and grabbed some 103d swag and all in support of Children's Miracle Network and University.

BARTONVILLE, Ill. — A Farewell Ceremony was held to honor U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers from the 419th Movement Control Battalion (419th MCB) ahead of their deployment in support of U.S. Central Command area of operations on June 20.

Families, friends, and community supporters packed the room to bid farewell to their loved ones of the 419th MCB, a unit with a proud legacy dating back to 1944. These Soldiers are trained, they are ready and they are answering the call.

Today we celebrate the fathers of the 103d ESC and all the Soldiers who lead at work and at home, and the family members who hold it down when duty calls them away.

To every dad in our formation we want to say thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and the example you set for your family and your unit.

🪙 Fresh out of AIT. Already setting the standard.

Specialist Hunter Clark earned the first Operation Sentinel Justice coin and he wasted no time doing it.

Assigned to the 103d ESC G6 and working in collaboration with the 200th Military Police Command G6, his initiative helped ensure JBC-P systems remained fully operational, enabling Soldiers across the formation to communicate when it mattered most.

The mission was to sustain the tactical internet (TI) across every command system in the exercise. The results:

✅ 600+ command systems validated
✅ 120+ hard drives updated
✅ 400+ systems connected
✅ 15 personnel across 6 elements, from company level to a two-star command

The coin was presented by Brig. Gen. Reginald J. Kornegay, Chief of Staff, U.S. Army Reserve Command illustrating a clear signal that this level of impact is recognized at the highest levels.

Communication wins missions. SPC Clark helped ensure the Army Reserve kept that advantage.

Today, the 103d Expeditionary Sustainment Command pauses to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to this Nation.

We remember our six fallen Soldiers whose courage, dedication, and selfless service embodied everything the Army Reserve stands for:
