Looking for an affordable way to keep your kids active, cool, and confident in the water this summer?

From June 22 through September 6, youth can swim for just $3 per visit during all Family Swim and Open Swim times at Mount Rainier Pool!

Even better, parents and caregivers can join in with our $2 Swim with Your Kids rate. Swimming together is one of the best ways to help kids build confidence, practice water safety skills, and create fun family memories in the pool.

📢 Weekday Swim Lesson Update

Due to recent closures over the last couple of weeks, our current weekday swim lesson sessions will have rescheduled dates added at the end of each session.

Updated session end dates:

🏊 Monday & Wednesday Lessons
May 27–June 24
New end date: June 24

🏊 Tuesday & Thursday Lessons
May 28–June 25
New end date: June 25

If your swimmer cannot attend the rescheduled lesson on June 24 or June 25, please contact us as soon as possible to receive a credit.

The scholarship deadline for Late Spring Swim Lessons is Tuesday, June 23. Applications take less than five minutes and can be completed right from your cellphone using its camera.

Scholarships are available to residents of Des Moines and Normandy Park.

Cool off at Mount Rainier Pool this weekend!

Family Swim is from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, followed by Open Swim from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. Enjoy one rate for both swims!

Reminder: Parents who swim with their children only pay an additional $2.

🌊 SUMMER SWIM LESSON REGISTRATION INFORMATION IS NOW AVAILABLE!

Summer is the perfect time to help kids build confidence, water safety skills, and a lifelong love of swimming.

Mount Rainier Pool offers affordable, high-quality swim lessons with:
✅ American Red Cross-trained instructors
✅ Swim evaluations for proper level placement
✅ Free practice swim times for enrolled youth participants and one parent
✅ Scholarships and financial assistance options
✅ Translation tools and translated swim lesson materials
✅ A fun, welcoming environment for swimmers of all levels

📅 Summer lesson options include weekday mornings, weekday evenings, Friday evenings, and Saturday mornings. Please note that Friday evening and Saturday morning classes are already full.

Re-opening Late: Friday, June 12

Mount Rainier Pool will re-open today, Friday, June 12, at 4:00 p.m.

The pool was temporarily closed due to mechanical issues that caused lower visibility in the water. We are taking a little extra time today to remove remaining silt and improve water clarity for the long term.

The water will be clear and ready for your visit when we reopen. We will continue to monitor water quality and will provide updates if needed.

The Mount Rainier Pool will remain closed through the rest of the day (Thursday, June 11) due to a failure in the mechanics of our filtration system.

SWIM LESSON PARTICIPANTS
We will reschedule swim lessons to end on Thursday, June 25. This will ensure everyone has eight classes for this session. If you are unable to attend on June 25, please email us at [email protected] to receive a credit.

FRIDAY UPDATE
We will provide our next update at 6:00am. on Friday, June 12. If you plan on coming in that early that morning, please call us at 206.824.4722.
