About two weeks ago, we admitted this beautiful young Sora.
Most people have never heard of—or seen—these secretive marsh birds. We most often encounter them during migration, typically after window collisions.
Thankfully, this little bird only needed a couple of quiet days of rest and supportive care before she was ready to return to the wild.
We carefully selected a peaceful release site. When we arrived, just one other person was there: a wildlife photographer capturing images of local birds that morning.
After a brief chat, we released the Sora. He captured this gorgeous photo just before she disappeared safely into the bushes.
Thank you Anders Pagh Thomsen for such a nice shot!
