We sat down with Dr. Uzma Hasan, Regional Director of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Northern New Jersey Barnabas Health Medical Group, to answer parents' freqeuntly asked questions about Long Covid. She helped open one of the first pediatric Long COVID clinics in the country and is currently researching how it affects kids.

A community member recently dropped off this wood printed photo of a Lung Association (Tuberculosis Association at the time) mobile x-ray truck in Des Moines.

These mobile x-ray trucks were used in the 1930s and 1940s to provide chest x-rays and catch Tuberculosis earlier, improving survival rates and slowing the spread of TB.

The American Lung Association in Iowa works under the state’s Behavioral Health To***co Prevention grant. As part of that work, Iowa staff work on the Quitline initiative. Under this initiative, staff promote Quitline Iowa and My Life My Quit and distribute to***co and ni****ne intervention, prevention and cessation materials to the community. Staff also offer in-person and virtual Quitline referral trainings. Finally, staff track the number of Quitline users in each county.

Although our service area covers eight counties, Quitline Iowa is available to Iowans in all 99 counties. This fiscal year, staff are providing referral trainings to community organizations, healthcare providers and others in Dallas, Jasper, Marshall and Polk counties.
