Demand for essential services across central Iowa continues to grow, but nonprofit capacity isn't keeping pace.

85% of organizations responding to the 2026 Thriving Community Survey expect demand for their services to increase in the coming year. Yet only 30% expect to be able to fully meet that demand.

When organizations cannot keep pace, the impact can reach beyond one program or service. Strengthening nonprofit capacity is an important part of helping individuals and families find stability and thrive.

Nearly 1,000 students across central Iowa will head back to school with the supplies they need to start the year ready to learn. 🎒

Thanks to our incredible volunteers and the generous support of Sammons Financial Group Companies 970 backpacks were packed with grade-appropriate school supplies for local students. When students have the tools they need on day one, they're better prepared to learn, grow, and thrive.

Thank you to everyone who made Backpack Builders possible and helped invest in the future of our community. 💙 A special thank you to Harvest Academy Iowa for helping deliver backpacks to our nonprofit partners and ensuring students receive these resources before the first day of school.
