The affordable housing crisis disproportionately impacts older adults, veterans, people with disabilities and low-income families.

In 2025 alone, Rebuilding Together was able to repair over 7,000 homes nationwide making sure they are safe, accessible and affordable for our most vulnerable neighbors.

Every roof patched helps keep a family safely housed. Every accessible ramp helps a neighbor live independently. Every repaired home preserves affordable housing that might otherwise disappear forever.

Do you know someone who needs help with critical home repairs?

We are accepting applications for local Des Moines area families that are in need of a little help.

Examples of home repairs that may be provided: repairing or replacing flooring, windows, steps, wheelchair ramps, stabilizing a shower, kitchen cabinet installs, removal and install of back steps, landscaping, and repainting of exterior and many more. These improvements will enable the homeowners and their families to live in a safe and healthy home. For more information:
