Join us on Saturday, May 23, 2026, as we remember the legacy of American veterans this Memorial Day. All activities are free and open to the public. There is no need to register.

Event Schedule:
2 p.m. – Petroglyph Tour
Washington State Park staff will offer a tour of the petroglyphs, the park's history carved in stone. Learn about the Mississippian-era carvings, the culture and community that created them, and possible interpretations. Take a short stroll on a covered walkway with interpretive panels highlighting the cultural features.

4 p.m. – Korean War Stories
Join staff at the park's Korean War Memorial to view a display about the Korean War and learn more about this conflict. See letters written by soldiers to loved ones back home, and hear stories of bravery. Make a poppy to bring home with you as a memorial to those who have sacrificed their lives in fighting for our nation.

The memorial is located across the street from the interpretive center. It is situated on the 38th parallel, the circle of latitude that roughly marks the border between North and South Korea.

7 p.m. – S'mores and Campfire Stories
Come sit around the fire, roast marshmallows, and listen to stories of bravery in honor of Memorial Day. Meet at the campground entrance.

It's a lovely day in the park, filled with bright yellow coreopsis and Missouri primrose. 🌼
Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped with the trash cleanup effort last Saturday! Because of everyone who takes the time to leave things better than how they found them, the scenic views pop even more. ✨

All set up at the Thunderbird Lodge! Stop by anytime today from 10am-2pm for a trash cleanup in honor of Earth Day.
