The DeSoto Recreation center is going to open back up for classes next week. The Longest running Class is Aikia Karate ( close to 25 yrs )and we will be returning, here is a few of the restrictions
1. We are being allowed to have classes again, with restrictions beginning June 9th ( next Tuesday )
2. Class size is limited to 15 max for the time being ( first come first serve ) hope they let us have more soon
3. Students will have to preregister for classes before coming Tuesday, here is the link, it is the same page that was used before if you paid online in the past
http://apm.activecommunities.com/desot…/Activity_Search/2002
if you do not have internet to sign up on we will need you to be at the recreation center around 6:00. The City will have a tablet at the door for you to sign up
There will be no drop ins for this month ( means students who sign up past the first of the month)
4. We will be entering the building by the front doors, the doors we normally come in should be locked ( so we are not over the approved number of people in the center) parents will have to drop the students off at the front door and park in the garage or run errands ( parents will not be able to enter and sit in class like we normally do) we are hoping for this to just be for this month. I , or a older student will wait at the front door until close to the 7:00 class time to walk any younger students to the room as needed. Please be prompt picking up your child at after 8:00
5. May want to bring a water bottle, the fountains may be shut off
6. Bathrooms may be closed also,(careful drinking too much before class ) I am not sure about list 4-5 just trying to be prepared
7. Gloves and masks can be removed when we are in our class room, but must be worn while walking back and forth between the door and the room
8. I know gloves and masks are hard to find, do the best you can, you can wear any type glove, I realize it’s not cold out but you can take them off when you get in the room, you can make your own mask or use a bandanna of some kind per cdc rules
9. My sister is selling reusable masks for $5, which is pretty much what it costs her ( cash only )
10. Staff will check temperatures of everyone before they enter
11. All sparring is suspended for now, I will discuss with students about temporary belt testing changes on a one on one basis as needed.
12. If there is any changes I will let everyone know as soon as possible
This is from the city and listed on the page that you will have to sign up on for now
Due to COVID-19 visitors are asked to comply with the following guidelines.

I would like to thank everyone for their support during these tough times, teaching classes is my only income and not having classes has been incredibly tough for me and I know some of you have been dealing with the same type things
I hope to see all of you next week so we can get back to training and get those new belts
