It's important to remember to not only change your clocks but also to change your smoke detector batteries. Smoke detectors are your first line of defense against fires, and they can save your life and your loved ones' lives in case of an emergency.
It's recommended to replace your smoke detector batteries at least once a year, and daylight saving time is a perfect reminder to do so. If your smoke detector is more than 10 years old, it's time to replace the entire unit to ensure it's working properly.
Remember, fires can happen at any time, and having a working smoke detector is crucial to giving you and your family the time you need to escape. So, take a few minutes to check your smoke detectors, replace their batteries if needed, and test them to make sure they're functioning properly.
Stay safe!

We are excited to announce that we are opening up our scholarship application for the year 2023! Please use the link to fill out the information to the best of your ability. Last year we gave out three scholarships to people in our community and two of them are already working for departments as firefighters! This year we are looking to give out scholarships to three more people from our community that are looking to start a career as a firefighter/EMT.
This is not a job offer but an opportunity to make something of your future. If you are chosen you will have full tuition, books, and uniforms provided to our EMT class and Fire Academy which will make you a fully certified firefighter in the state of Texas. From there you can start your career wherever you want.
If you didn't get chosen last year please apply again! Fire academy starts in July and EMT school starts soon after that.
We can't wait to hear from you!
