Last week, the 8th-grade choir had the opportunity to travel to Kansas City for a series of great musical experiences and to experience the local culture. On Friday, students got to taste authentic KC barbecue at Arthur Bryant's BBQ and see what all the fuss was about! On Saturday, they woke up early to compete at the Festival of Music and receive a clinician from the University of Kansas's Professor of Music to help further develop their craft. After their performance, they got to have a fun day at Worlds of Fun and enjoy some rollercoasters. Before the choir began their trek back home on Sunday, they went to the American Jazz Museum to hear about the history of jazz and how it shaped music as we know it. The trip was incredible, and the students had a blast and got to experience a lot of lifelong memories.

I would like to take a moment to congratulate our Middle School Band on their performance last night. Mrs. Boyer, Mr. Howard, and Mr. Boyer did an excellent job preparing the students.

It is always impressive to see the growth and progress our students make from 6th grade through 8th grade. Their hard work and dedication were clearly on display, and it was a great representation of our program.

***The performance was way better than my picture-taking skills 😀
