Are you ready to be a part of the Roadrunner football tradition?

All parents and guardians of Harry Hurst students interested in participating in the football program this upcoming school year are highly encouraged to attend our parent meeting. This includes all athletes who participated in May tryouts, as well as anyone who was unable to try out but still wants to be involved in the program!

Harry Hurst Middle School is thrilled to announce the newest leader of our football program. Please join us in giving a massive Roadrunner welcome to our new Head Football Coach, Kevin Naquin!

Coach Naquin brings a wealth of knowledge, a passion for the game, and decades of high-level coaching and playing experience to our team. He is dedicated to building not just great athletes, but great leaders on and off the field.

Coach Naquin’s impressive football journey spans from the college gridiron to some of the most competitive high school programs in the state:

-Destrehan High School (2022–2025): Served as the Receivers Coach, helping guide a powerhouse local program.

-Central Lafourche High School: Spent 13 impactful years molding offenses and leading the passing game as the Quarterbacks Coach.

-Oberlin High School (1995–1996): Began his coaching journey as a dedicated Assistant Coach.

-McNeese State University (1988–1990): Played at the Division I level on a full Football Scholarship, mastering the game from the inside out.

In addition to his extensive football background, Coach Naquin is a versatile leader who brings valuable head coaching experience to our athletic department, having previously served as a high school head coach for basketball, baseball, track, and golf.

We are incredibly excited to welcome Coach Naquin to the Hurst family. His multi-sport leadership, background in developing quarterbacks and receivers, and collegiate playing experience make him the perfect fit to mentor our young athletes and take Roadrunner Football to the next level.

We can't wait to see the energy, discipline, and expertise Coach Naquin will bring to our players this upcoming season.

Hurst Middle School: Summer Prep & Uniform Guide!
Happy Summer, Roadrunner families! While you are taking a well-deserved break, we want to help you get a head start on your back-to-school shopping. ☀️🛍️
To make things easy, here is your quick guide to the Harry Hurst dress code and campus policies for the upcoming school year:
👕 Daily Uniform Essentials
• Shirts: Solid green or white collared shirts.
• Spirit Shirts: Green Hurst Official Spirit Shirts can be worn any day.
• Bottoms: Khaki or navy pants, shorts, skirts, or joggers.
• Length Rule: Shorts or skirts cannot be shorter than 2 inches above the knee.
🧥 Pullovers & Outerwear
• Hurst Pullovers: Official green Hurst pullovers are approved daily.
• Crewnecks: Solid white, grey, green, or black pullover sweatshirts are allowed. If they have a logo, it cannot be bigger than a fist (pocket logo size).
• Heavy Jackets: Outerwear that unzips, snaps, or buttons fully can be any color and worn any day.
• 🛑 Important Hoodie Rule: No hooded apparel is allowed on campus. Please keep this in mind when buying jackets and sweatshirts!
🗓️ Friday Spirit Days
• On Fridays, students can wear other Hurst club shirts, sports shirts, and Hurst pullovers with their standard school uniform pants.
🚫 What to Leave Off Your Shopping List:
Before you hit the stores, remember that these items are not allowed on campus:
• ❌ Any clothing with a hood
• ❌ Cargo pants or cargo shorts
• ❌ Leggings

💧 Water Bottle Reminder
When picking out a water bottle for the new year, please remember our safety policy:
• ✅ Allowed: Clear, completely transparent water bottles.
• ❌ Not Allowed: Metal or colored/translucent plastic bottles should be left at home.
