Continuing our fall schedule! πŸ‚
Our team has been busy with community outreach β€” training at the Ormond 5K, taking part in the Eastbank Library Trunk or Treat, and fire prevention at Ethel Schoeffner Elemtary School.

We’re proud to stay active in our community and connect with residents through events like these! πŸš’πŸ‘ŸπŸŽƒ

East St. Charles Fire Department continues its Fire Prevention Month activities throughout October! πŸ”₯πŸ‘©β€πŸš’

Today, our crew visited Small World Daycare in Destrehan. We talked with the kids about what we do, the equipment we use, and the gear we wear. We also covered important fire safety tips and answered lots of great questions!

We always enjoy connecting with our community and teaching the next generation about fire safety and the work we do to keep everyone safe. πŸš’β€οΈ

In Memoriam – Jim Chimento

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lifetime Member Jim Chimento.

Jim faithfully served the East St. Charles Fire Department for many years, including as Training Captain and a member of the Board of Directors. His dedication, leadership, and commitment to service made a lasting impact on our department and community.

We are forever grateful for Jim’s contributions, his friendship, and his example of service above self. He will be deeply missed by his fellow firefighters, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Jim’s family during this difficult time.

Today, members of the East St. Charles Fire Department participated in a 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb β€” a powerful tribute to the 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001.

Each step climbed represents the heroic journey they took up the Twin Towers that day. With full gear on and hearts full of remembrance, our firefighters honored their fallen brothers and sisters β€” and made sure that we never forget.

To all those we lost, and to the families forever impacted: we climb for you. We remember. We honor. We stand united.
