On this day in 2020, the Detroit Police Department lost Police Officer Waldis Johnson, who succumbed to a gunshot wound sustained in April 2017 while in the line of duty. Ofc. Johnson served for 17 years. We will never forget his ultimate sacrifice.

🚓Narcotics Enforcement at Movement Festival🚓

On May 23 and 24, 2026, Detroit Police officers completed a narcotics enforcement operation at Movement Festival.
Officers made two felony arrests and cited two individuals, and seized narcotics including 94.8 grams of suspected co***ne, 282.5 grams of suspected M**A, 167 grams of mushrooms and 206.2 grams of ma*****na. Later, it was determined that the suspected co***ne and M**A were imitation substances, which pose an additional safety risk to potential users. The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office issued felony charges for Possession with Intent to Distribute for the two felony arrests.

🚨 Detroit Police are searching for 16-year-old Da’Marko Ballard, who is wanted as a person of interest in connection to an incident that occurred on 05/23/26 in the 19000 block of Waltham.
