A picture is worth a thousand words. Our officers provide so much more than police presence. At Wednesday’s King JV game, a few varsity players were in need of equipment assistance…they went right to Officers Mangum and Stone, who were more than happy to assist. To our officers policing is more than enforcing the law, it’s mentorship, it’s meeting needs, at every level, and most importantly, it’s being there.

Good Sunday morning, from your DPSCD Department of Public Safety! We cannot say enough about this crew right here! These are our security specialists! Pictured left to right in the first pic…Kiana Gault, Melisa Bell, Rochelle Shane, and Jeremy Henderson…not pictured is Christopher Decriscio. This team begins working early and doesn’t stop until…they don’t stop. Our specialists make sure there is security coverage for the thousand plus athletic and extracurricular events throughout the District. They handle training as well as assignments, deployments, and problem resolution. As a unit, they are all recipients of the Public Safety Service Award! All they know is winning! Your DPSCD Department of Public Safety would like to highlight Security Officer Anthony Washington.
Security Officer Washington has been an officer at Burton International Academy for 9 years (6 years w DPSCD).
SO Washington worked The Summer Discovery Program at Earhart Elementary Middle School, and would leave three days out of the week to go to Burton International Academy to feed the fish in the tank located behind his desk (on his own time), Anthony Washington is a role model and motivator to each kid he comes in contact with.
In pictures within the post you can see SO Washington pictured (in the mural on the building) w/ students ad teachers.
Keep up the good work Anthony Washington.
