Greater Detroit Realtist Association

Greater Detroit Realtist Association Greater Detroit Realtist Association is a chapter of NAREB. NAREB was founded in 1947 out of a need to secure equal housing opportunities for all people!

The Greater Detroit Realtist Association (GDRA) is a local chapter of The National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB). NAREB was formed July 29, 1947, making it the oldest minority trade association in America. NAREB was founded by twelve individuals, one woman and eleven men from seven states, across the United States. Four of those individuals were from Detroit. NAREB held its first conv

ention at the Convention Hall in Atlantic City, N.J., on July 19–20, 1948. NAREB was established by African-American real estate professionals as an alternative for African-Americans who were excluded from the National Association of Realtors. NAREB members are called Realtist and represent all professional disciplines within the real estate industry including residential and commercial real estate agents and brokers, loan officers, mortgage brokers, title companies, appraisers, insurance agents, and developers. Realtists promote the highest standards of professional integrity and follow a strict code of real estate industry ethics. Each local chapter continually accepts new members. When you become a member of GDRA you are automatically a member of NAREB.

On Friday, June 19 (Juneteenth), from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, we are hosting Built Different '26 at Regency Manor & Banquet in Southfield. It is a full day of professional development built around the four pillars every agent needs to compete right now: AI, Brand, Niche, and Wealth. We are calling it the blueprint for becoming The Future-Ready Realtor, and it is held in honor of the Andre V. Seldon Jr. Foundation.

Here is a look at what we will be covering on stage.

KEYNOTE
James Rembert, founder of Digital Natives Inc. and creator of Nudge and The Aigent Lab, on how agentic AI and smart workflow design are reshaping the business, and exactly how to put these tools to work in yours.

THE SESSIONS
Sade Harper on investing, flipping, and the revitalization happening right here in Detroit.
Andrea Cook on Commission to Cashflow, turning the money you earn into lasting wealth.
Faye Baker on construction and ground-up development for agents ready to build, not just sell.
Derick McKinney on a fresh, unconventional approach to scripts and dialogue, with AI doing the heavy lifting.
Towanna Jackson on building a niche that sets you apart, drawn from her work in probate and divorce.
Julian Gueringer on branding, and how to build a brand people remember and trust.
Otis Jackson III on creating content that actually goes viral.

THE PANELS
Women's Top Producer Panel, hosted by Danielle Dunham. Top women in the business on what it takes to reach the top and stay there.
Men Who Move Markets. A panel of the region's leading male producers on building and scaling a business that lasts.

Because of the work your organization does for agents in this region, I would like to extend ten complimentary tickets for your members. Anyone who wants to join us is welcome to one, while they last.

To claim them, just have anyone interested send me their name and email address, and I will send their ticket directly.

You can see the full details at BuiltDifferent26.com. I would be honored to have your members in the room with us.

Warmly,
LaShawn of Team Peterson-Jackson
