Our next event will be in support of mental Heath care. As the new administration attempts to strip healthcare rights and educational rights for the mentally ill it is imperative that we stand up for those who suffer.

We thank you all for your interest, support and participation in the March for Science Detroit-April 22, 2017. We believe that it was huge success.

We hope that you found the day enjoyable and productive. I think we sent a loud and clear message about scientific research, funding and education and the implementation of evidence based decision making policies.

We could not have asked for a better day and crowd. The crowd was attentive, enthusiastic and peaceful. Shout out to the DPD who allowed us to peacefully and safely March up Woodward Avenue. The route had been in question due to the numbers and the M-1 rail. Despite double the projected attendance, the DPD came to me at about 1:30 and told me that we would have a police es**rt up Woodward to Grand Circus Park with police blocking major intersections along the way.

What a thrill it was to have our voices echo between the tall buildings on Woodward. Even more thrilling was the U-turn at Grand Circus Park to head back down Woodward towards Hart Plaza and seeing the marchers trailing up Woodward and all the high-fives as we passed.

Our website and FB page will now be converted to focus on Science issues in local, state and Federal government. This will help us continue with our movement through to the next March. We will post further events, notices of Executive Orders and Presidential Memos, proposed legislation, other newsworthy items. We will post action plans that will enable us to continue with the efforts to Support Science.

We still have t-shirts left in Royal Blue, Gray and White in Large and Xtra Large. If enough interest is shown we will order more buttons. If you are interested in shirts or buttons, e-mail us please. The proceeds will be used to continue the March for Science movement.

Thank you all again. Continue to share this and the FB page with your friends.
