The Third Judicial Circuit is the largest circuit court in Michigan with 59 judges and three operating divisions. This is the court's official page.

The Court’s 58 judges, 24 referees, and court staff help ensure timely delivery of judicial services in the Civil, Criminal, and Family Divisions, including the Friend of the Court. Congratulations to the five graduates of the Third Circuit Court's Juvenile Mental Health Court program!

These remarkable young people made a commitment to themselves, their families, and their futures by completing a program designed to support mental wellness, accountability, and personal growth. Their achievement reflects months of hard work, perseverance, and determination.

Led by the Hon. Judy Hartsfield, the program's success is made possible through the dedication of court staff, treatment providers, and community partners who work together to support participants on their journey.

Today, we celebrate five students who have taken important steps toward building brighter futures. We are proud of all they have accomplished and look forward to their continued success.

Our 10 Minutes to Justice community outreach program continued earlier this week at the Gibraltar City Council meeting. Many thanks to our wonderful hosts at Gibraltar on the council and in administration, and to the Hon. Kathleen McCarthy who provided the overview on our court, jury services, and available legal resources for Wayne County residents.

Seventeen of our court's referees recently attended the 42nd Annual Referees Association of Michigan (RAM) Conference in Midland. Continuing education is an important part of what we do.

Referee Christina McPhail-Stockdale visited Bow Elementary School earlier this spring for Career Day, introducing students to careers in the legal system. Through the mock case, "The Three Bears v. Goldilocks," students explored fairness, critical thinking, and the importance of making decisions in the best interest of children. ⚖️📚
