Our mission is to empower all scholars to develop the strength of character, skills, and knowledge needed to matriculate, be great in, and graduate from college so that they have opportunities to be successful in the competitive world and take care of themselves and the people that they love. Focused on a 9-16 model, our College Success Team works ceaselessly with current scholars and alumni to pr

ovide college counseling and support to not only make sure they graduate from high school, but college as well – outcomes that are real game changers in urban education. US News recently ranked JRLA among the top open enrollment high schools in Detroit based on college readiness levels, math and reading proficiency and college curriculum. In addition, JRLA currently ranks first for open enrollment high schools in the City of Detroit for college matriculation and is continually improving on college persistence.

JRLA families, let’s get our Jaguars ready for the 2026–2027 sports season! 💪🏾

Thanks to Advantage Health Detroit , scholar-athletes can receive an on-site sports physical right here at JRLA.

📅 Wednesday, August 26
⏰ 3:30–7 PM
📍 JRLA Gym (15000 Trojan Street)

✅ Insurance required
✅ No out-of-pocket cost
✅ No insurance? Community workers will be available to help families with insurance enrollment and resources.

🚨 A current physical is REQUIRED to participate in JRLA sports, so don’t wait!
