Fisher Building

Fisher Building Designed by Albert Kahn, built in 1928 by the Fisher brothers as a gift to Detroit.

A National Historic Landmark home to shops, cafes, Broadway theatre, and a living commitment to Detroit's cultural legacy. Opened in 1928 and designed by architect Albert Kahn, the Fisher Building's main tower is 28 stories tall, with two 11-story wings off either side. The Art Deco building was expertly constructed from granite and marble

With its three-story central arcade, ornate frescoes with

bronze, marble, brass and golf-leaf mosaics, this beautiful building is best known for its "golden tower". Considered to be Detroit's largest art object, the Fisher Building's public corridors are lined with over 40 kinds of marble gathered from around the world and incredible hand-painted ceilings.

Formal wear is coming home to the Fisher. is bringing their formal collection back to the arcade, with something new on the way for the Park Shelton space too. ๐Ÿ’›

Personal message from Rachel:
Tomorrow, we'll be announcing something really special and NEW coming to my original Park Shelton spot- my first space that I originally opened in 2011.

You've told me over the years that you wanted to shop for formal wear at The Peacock Room in one location again, not two. So we moved all of our formal *back* to the Fisher Building. That left my original space empty- and ready for its next life. I can't wait to share with you my plans for a BRAND-NEW concept ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿฆš๐Ÿ’š

THANK YOU for all the support over the years. You, along with the amazing people I get to work with every day, have grown The Peacock Room beyond my wildest dreams. You've allowed me to live my passion, and this newest project will help me continue to serve the community in new ways I never imagined. Stay tuned!

XOXO,
Rachel

Wishes tucked into brass, softened against cold marble. A quiet secret on the Fisherโ€™s second floor elevator doors, off the usual route but worth the detour.

Goldfish swim in etched relief, an age old emblem of abundance and uninterrupted fortune. Their round, flowing forms soften the buildingโ€™s hard geometry and promise a steady, living prosperity.

Songbirds nearby speak of voice and learning, song acquired by listening and practice, a symbol of freedom, communication, and human growth.

Framed by Art Deco precision, these tender motifs are bronze artist Anthony Di Lorenzoโ€™s gentle counterpoint to industry and stone.

is bringing Fortune Feimster, Takin' Care of Biscuits Comedy Tour, to the Fisher Theatre on Saturday June 20 at 7pm.

Sharp, confessional, and completely herself, Fortune has built a career finding the common ground between people who might otherwise never share a laugh. The kind of comedian who makes a room of strangers feel like old friends by the time the lights come up.
