My and Michigan Freedom Center’s thanks and gratitude to:
our golfers who came out to support our mission.
Our volunteers who worked tirelessly last evening and today.
Fox Hills and their staff for helping us host our event and especially to our “mission driven “dynamic duo” Carol and David Zarek. If not for their extraordinary dedication, this day wouldn’t have been fun filled success we all enjoyed.

Several of our volunteers met the wheelchair athletes at their gates and escorted them through the terminals to the baggage claim areas. We took them by our Freedom Center lounges and invited them to stop by before their return flights home. Many expressed their gratitude for the warm welcome and the assist getting through the crowded terminal.

251 years of readiness, courage, and sacrifice. 🇺🇸

Today, we join the nation in celebrating the U.S. Army’s 251st Birthday! On behalf of all of us at the Michigan Freedom Center, we want to say a massive thank you to the Soldiers, Veterans, and military families who have dedicated their lives to protecting our freedoms.

If your travels bring you through DTW today, stop by the Freedom Center and let us serve you.

Happy Birthday, U.S. Army! Hooah! 🪖✨

The Michigan Armed Forces Hospitality Center a.k.a. MI Freedom Center welcomes all active duty, veterans and family members when traveling together, dependents and NATO Force partners. We especially love it when our four-legged friends come to visit our lounges. We’ll even greet them with a kiss.

Today, we honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Memorial Day is more than a long weekend — it is a time to remember the courage, service, and selflessness of those who gave everything for our country.

We remember the fallen.
We honor their families.
We carry forward their legacy with gratitude and respect.

May we never forget that freedom comes at a cost paid by heroes whose names and stories live on in our hearts.

God bless our fallen heroes, their loved ones, and the United States of America. 🇺🇸

Thank you Len! Len Rose is not only the gentleman seen to the right of our board member singing the national anthem, he is a Navy veteran who served on the deck of an aircraft carrier…the most dangerous job in the world. He’s also the longest serving veteran volunteer at our Michigan Armed Forces Hospitality Center. Additionally, Len is our volunteer training coordinator. He helps ensure that all of our visitors are greeted warmly and respectfully. It is my privilege and honor to serve with men and women like Len. I also wanna point out and recognize the gentleman in the red vest. Larry, one of our most dedicated and long-standing volunteers is also a Vietnam veteran. He likely did not experience the recognition and appreciation when he returned from active duty in country. I’m grateful that he can now enjoy the respect and gratitude of our nation. I also want to thank Larry for his outstanding service as a MI Freedom Center Volunteer Host. Both Larry and Len are the kind of volunteers who have created our “culture of caring“.
