Yesterday, DWIHN proudly welcomed community leaders, elected officials, providers, partners, advocates, and residents to our 2026 Annual Meeting at Wayne County Community College District.
The afternoon began with a public Board of Directors meeting and concluded with a community reception filled with conversation, collaboration, recognition, and shared commitment to the future of behavioral healthcare in Wayne County.
Attendees heard updates on the state of mental health initiatives across the county, key legislative and policy developments, and efforts to expand access to care. We also recognized the lives saved through Narcan and celebrated the collective impact made possible through partnership and community action.
We were honored to welcome distinguished guests including Wayne County Executive Warren Evans, Wayne County Sheriff Raphael Washington, Detroit Police Chief Todd Bettison, Detroit City Council President James Tate, WCCCD Chancellor Dr. Curtis L. Ivery, DWIHN Board Members past and present, along with mayors, law enforcement leaders, city officials, providers, family members, friends, and supporters from across Wayne County.
Thank you to everyone who joined us as we reflected on our progress, recognized those making a difference, and continued important conversations about building healthier communities for all.
A special thank you to our mistress of ceremonies, Sandra Ali from CBS Detroit.
