First of May Anarchist Alliance

First of May Anarchist Alliance We do not see our selves as a regional organization. We instead seek broad trans-national alliances. M1′s affinity is built around four principles. For Anarchy!

First of May Anarchist Alliance (M1)

We are a new organization with its members having a much longer history of collaboration, in some instances reaching back to the 1980’s through an array of revolutionary anarchist organizing. With the creation of M1 we move from the informal affinity to being an established organizational presence; fully engaged with the broader anarchist, revolutionary and so

cial movements. As individuals and as members of M1, we are active in our communities and workplaces, within the labor unions, and through formations such as the Industrial Workers of the World and Solidarity & Defense. Nor do we see ourselves as a necessarily “permanent” grouping. We aim for a fluid organization capable of responding to given circumstances while maintaining a committed membership based on core anarchist and revolutionary perspectives. Given needs and demands of the movement, we will reconceptualize and remake our organization(s). In short, there is nothing static in the realm of struggle; we are open to the possibilities that all we create today will have to be transformed tomorrow. These are:

1) a commitment to revolution;

2) a working class orientation;

3) a non-doctrinaire anarchism and;

4) a non-sectarian and multi-layered approach to organization. The M1 colors represent our commitment to anarchism, the revolutionary social struggle, and an ecological perspective – black, red and green. For Dignity, Justice and Freedom – Against Capitalism and the State!

Solidarity is not a crime. Showing up for our neighbors is not a crime. Standing against injustice is not a crime.

The MN15 are being prosecuted for protesting ICE, and they need all of us to keep paying attention, speaking out, and standing beside them.

With the workers, the unions, the women, the oppressed people of Iran.
Against the US/Israel war on the people of Iran. Against the US/Israel genocide states.
Against all oppressors, abusers and authoritarian states. Against all apologists for authoritarian states everywhere.

Those who act as apologists for the authoritarian state in Iran, those who act as apologists for the ruling class, the ruling elites in Iran are those who deny the agency, the struggles of the oppressed people in Iran. To deny the legitimacy of the struggles of the workers, the unions, the women, the oppressed people in Iran is to turn a blind eye to the fight of the international working class and to side with the oppressors. Never trust any person or group who deny the agency, the legitimacy of the fight of the opptressed against oppression and exploitation because those persons and groups are on the side of the oppressors and exploiters.

Marandi’s Shameless Claim: Disinformation and the Attack on International Solidarity

On August 26, Seyed Mohammad Marandi, an internationally known adviser to and defender of the Islamic Republic’s domestic and foreign policies, posted a baseless claim that he had “been told by a very reliable source that the Israeli regime’s US lobby was behind The Guardian’s anti-Iranian letter.”

He refers to an open letter to Iranian political prisoners, signed by prominent Western academics, former and current political prisoners, and left-leaning activists. The letter expresses solidarity with political prisoners, calls for an end to executions and political imprisonment, and condemns U.S. and Israeli military aggression and sanctions against Iran.

You don’t have to agree with every aspect of the letter to reject state-sponsored character assassination. Attributing solidarity with Iranian political prisoners to “foreign intelligence” or “Zionist lobbies” is a dangerously calculated tactic to criminalize dissent, delegitimize independent labour unions and social movements, and portray their supporters as imperialist agents.

Iranian workers and leftist activists should not have to keep repeating that genuine anti-imperialism does not mean defending an oppressive capitalist state. We fiercely oppose foreign military intervention, war hawks, and imperialist sanctions that devastate working people. But opposition to Western imperialism can never excuse executions, political imprisonment, or suppression of independent trade unions and civil rights activists inside Iran.

To Western leftists, anti-imperialists, and activists who use figures like Marandi as sources for “independent analysis”: Marandi does not speak for Iran’s working class, the left, social movements, or political prisoners. Genuine internationalist solidarity means listening directly to independent Iranian workers, trade unions, teachers, students, socialist, feminist, and grassroots organizations, not regime mouthpieces in Tehran or the diaspora.

The Iranian working class has fiercely opposed the war on Iran, economic sanctions, U.S. imperialism, and the Israeli apartheid regime. Thousands of independent online forums make these voices accessible, and translation is easier than ever.

The “Minnesota 15” case continues on as the group continues to rally community support in their defense.

On August 27th, the Minnesota 15 appeared again in court, with scores of supporters rallying outside the 15’s court hearing while other supporters packed the court itself.

The Minnesota 15 are group of anti-ICE protesters who are facing bogus federal conspiracy charges for alleged actions against ICE during “Operation Metro Surge” - what the Department of Homeland Security calls “the largest immigration enforcement operation ever carried out.”

Their supporters dismiss these charges as political persecution.

It was within this operation that ICE killed Renée Good and Alex Pretti, which led to widespread demonstrations not just within Minneapolis but throughout the United States.

The Minnesota 15 case demonstrates the usage of AI tools by the state. Documents released by the courts detail the Trump administration’s sophisticated surveillance operation targeting anti-ICE protestors and groups - from civil rights groups to labor unions.

The court documents also reveal the usage of undercover agents deployed to public meetings as well as within protests.

The usage of these surveillance tools had already sparked public outrage. It was just in July that the Minneapolis City Council rejected a police drone contract with the controversial company Skydio after huge public backlash from residents and council members over concerns about mass surveillance, data privacy and police accountability, whose drones have been supplied to both ICE and the Israeli military forces in their gen*cide in G*za.

Thursday’s courtroom hearing was a motion by the defence to force the state to release more of its evidence in the case against the 15, as it reveals the various methods and tools utilised by the state in surveillance operations.

Trump-appointed prosecutors are resisting.
