We can't wait to see our DEA families this Friday, October 23rd, for Parent-Teacher Conferences! 🙌

Schedule an appointment with your child's teacher between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM to discuss your scholar’s progress, celebrate their wins, and partner with our educators for their success!

📝 A few ways you can prepare:

Check in with your child before coming to see if there's anything specific they'd like you to ask.

Prepare a few key questions or topics you'd like to cover regarding their academic progress or habits.

Use this time to build a plan with their teacher so we can support your scholar together, both at school and at home!

REMINDER: There is NO SCHOOL TODAY in observance of David Ellis Day!

In 1962, at just 26 years old, Bishop Ellis stepped into a struggling Detroit ministry on the brink of closure. With no power, pending bills, and insurmountable odds, he declared through unwavering faith: “God will send help we know not of.” Through his dedication and heart as a true servant leader, he transformed Greater Grace Temple into a pillar of hope, community support, housing, and education across Detroit.

Though he passed in 1996, his vision lives on - brought to life in part by his daughter, Theresa J. Ellis-Liddell, founder of David Ellis Academy. We are proud to carry his name. ❤️
