A Greektown landmark is getting a refresh.

The Detroit Transportation Corporation is partnering with Spectrum Neon to restore the iconic Stephen Antonakos artwork at the Greektown People Mover Station, recreating the installation with durable aluminum and modern LED technology while preserving its original design.

Detroit has a new way to experience the city...from the sky.

MyFlight Tours has officially opened its new 12,000-square-foot headquarters at Coleman A. Young International Airport, creating a destination that goes beyond helicopter tours. The new space features a full-service bar, small-plates menu, outdoor patio overlooking the airfield, private event spaces, and immersive aviation experiences for both flyers and visitors.

Founded in Detroit by husband-and-wife team Sergio and Cassandra Troiani, MyFlight has grown from a single helicopter into a multistate aviation company. Its new headquarters will serve as the center of national operations while giving Detroit residents and visitors a unique place to dine, celebrate, and experience aviation in a whole new way.

Whether you're planning a date night, celebrating a special occasion, or simply want to see Detroit from a different perspective, this is another exciting addition to the city's growing list of destinations.

Detroit's credit rating is now higher than Chicago's. Moody's rates Detroit A3 and Chicago Baa3, three notches lower, and S&P has Detroit at BBB+ to Chicago's BBB.

The Moody's upgrade put Detroit in the A category for the first time since 1999. It came the same week a federal judge closed the city's bankruptcy case, on May 19.

The city points to 12 consecutive balanced budgets and more than $500 million in reserves.

Detroit is getting the largest urban equestrian center in the country, and it's built for kids.

The nonprofit Detroit Horse Power is turning 14 acres in the Hope Village neighborhood into a $13 million facility with stables for 17 horses, indoor and outdoor arenas, and classrooms.

It uses riding to teach city kids confidence and life skills, all for free, and expects to reach more than 1,000 students a year. It opens by the end of 2026.
