♻️ The Detroit Caucus had the opportunity to tour the newly opened Waste Management (WM) Detroit Recycling Facility — a major investment in the future of recycling and sustainability right here in the City of Detroit.

WM has invested approximately $60 million in this state-of-the-art single-stream recycling facility to help advance circularity across Michigan and create more local solutions for recyclable materials.

The facility accepts mixed recyclables collected from curbside bins and businesses and is capable of processing up to 144,000 tons of material each year.

This investment helps give materials a second life while supporting cleaner communities, stronger local infrastructure, and a more sustainable future for Detroit and the State of Michigan. ♻️
