For Detroit Children

For Detroit Children “What 1 BIG thing could we do to help more of our children succeed in school and life? To really grow brighter futures in a better Detroit.”

To really grow brighter futures in a better Detroit.”

That's what a group of 10 high school and college students were asked, each a proud advisory board member of The Better Detroit Youth Movement. Ninety days later – after much brainstorming and many focus groups – they had an answer:

Quick question, parents:

Would your teen enjoy learning how to bake gourmet brownies while getting an introduction to social entrepreneurship (the business of helping others)?

We’re hosting a Brownie Baking & Blessing Experience this Saturday, March 21st, 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, at The Collective (15400 Grand River Avenue, 2nd Floor).

Students (ages 12–17) will:
• Learn important life and business skills
• Work together in a fun team environment
• Get a glimpse of how a real brownie company works
• Take home brownies they baked themselves
• Learn how they can earn money as a part of The Better Detroit Brownie Company.

The cost is just $10 per student (to cover the cost of ingredients), and we're limiting the class to a six students so everyone gets hands-on baking experience and personal attention.

If you have a teen who might enjoy being a part of this event, please call 313.597.7888, to RSVP.

This program supports the mission of The Better Detroit Brownie Company LLC and The Better Detroit Youth Movement (501c3) to make and bake a Greater Detroit our children deserve.
